Need good knowledge of mechanics due to attack delays. But I've played all the classes and I have the most fun playing the Artillerist. After you finish tutorial once, all the classes you create next, you can skip tutorial and start at level 10 straight. On top of that, when you skip tutorial, you get into a zone where you test a class with a lot of skills unlocked. Berserker is probably the best solo class. Tanky but can do a good bit of damage. But, to be honest, they are all good at solo. Play what you want without worrying about who is better. If you don't have a ton of time to play, play what you think is fun. Very investment heavy and takes quite a bit of practice to pilot it. There's definitely an issue with how paladins are generally perceived. Blue gunlancer!The reasons to play it are the highish apm, high mobility, high stagger, high destruction, two built in class dashes, and general tankiness. It also has one of the best "flows" out of all the classes I have played. Kind of hard to describe, but when I started playing it I instantly fell in love with how it felt. An important thing to remember is that gunlancer scales extremely well with engravings, especially blue lancer - since your shield is basically always up (if you have specialization & time your shout right) a lot of the negatives to engravings are basically negligible.
