It has really strong burst. When you're not in hype level 3 your damage isn't very good but you can focus on peeling for teammates until you have your burst back up. I have both and bard is way more involved. Pal can be played like a DPS class that also happens to support their allies without any input from the player whatsoever (well almost, you still want to aim Godsent Law under your friends' feet but that's more of an advanced tip). But striker needs some several things like runes, speicality, etc. Btw i think if you feel good at striker, it is good for you to pick striker. Striker have only 2 high damage jewels so you feel good and save your money. He will strong after relic tier and 33333. Chances are, you won't regret it. Anyhow as for beginner alts, Recommended : Sorc, zerk, artillerist, shadow hunter. Anything you pick you will be able to play any content the game offers. No one is going to reject you in a party just because of your class. Normally people are looking for lets say a Support in their group of 3 DPS! While it is fine to play it without max gear, the absolut top tier damage comes with having everything maxed. Other classes often need some very important tripods and are kinda fine then. It also has one of the best "flows" out of all the classes I have played. Kind of hard to describe, but when I started playing it I instantly fell in love with how it felt.Soulfist is a pretty challenging class to play optimally and the two builds require different skillsets to pilot so when I have the resources I'll definitely set-up a robust spirit gearset for fun.
